Our hunts begin well before sunrise so that all of the blinds and decoys are in
place before the geese and ducks start flying. All hunts are spotted the previous
day and the most promising one is selected. We use Final Approach Eliminator
blinds as well as stand up straw bale type blinds for duck hunting. Our decoys
are both full bodied and shell type. The number of decoys used on a shoot
depends upon the whether we are hunting late or early in the season and what
the weather conditions are.

Our blinds and decoy set ups are designed to bring the geese and ducks within
close shooting range of the hunter. Most of the geese we shoot are greater
Canada’s, which makes close range shooting even more exciting. Typically,
mallards and pintails are the most common ducks.

After the hunt is over, all the decoys, blinds and birds are picked up and the
hunters return to Cardston for breakfast or lunch. Field or over water duck
shooting primarily occurs in the evening.

All birds shot are stored in a cold facility during the day and then taken to the
cleaning facilities during the evening.
